The Masque of the Red Death is a short narration written by Edgar Allan Poe using his gothic style. Poes fleck centers in a country devastated by a disgust called Red Death. There are only hellion main characters in the story, Prince Prospero and the mystic figure. Prince Prospero is the duke of the fictional country in the story. He is portrayed as a wealthy and prosperous man. He has no compassion for the needy and his fellow men. This is shown when the ailment terribly hit the country but no hitch action was done by Prince Prospero to those who were greatly affected by the plague. He even arranged a masquerade enclose for his friends and wealthy citizens. Prince Prospero loves his life and wealth so much, that he vocalization populi his treasures will surpass death and mortality. The confidential figure in the story symbolizes the Red Death. The mysterious figure is immerse and gaunt and according to the narrator, he verbalisms like a corpse. His barde and appearance resembles the grave. He is also described as mortal who was infected with the disease that hit the country. He is in run a risk of someone who wants to escape mortality. Of these two characters, I can pull in that there is no particular character that gained my liking to a greater extent than than the other.

I dont like Prince Prospero that much because I dont like his arrogant stead and his look of immortality. I also dont like the mysterious figure because he symbolizes the Red Death which caused sufferings to the people in the story. Though I dont like the characters that much, I understand Prince Prospero most thoroughly. I can understand that his mili tary capability is caused by too much of his! wealth and pleasures in life. He was blinded by the material things that the world offers and thus resulting to his ism of his immortal self.
